More start date speculation

BB9 eye

An article on the Independent’s website has said that series 10 of Big Brother is due to start Wednesday, May 27th, a full week earlier than the date cited in the Daily Star

The article also discusses the summer programming of the main TV channels and what shows we can expect.

The Independent is a much more reliable source than the Daily Star however a May launch date looks pretty unlikely due to the competition that day including The Apprentice and the Champions League Final which would hinder ratings for the show.

BB10 to 'look foward, not back'

Rachel rice

Big Brother 10 will be about ‘looking forward, not looking back’ according to Big Brother sources in a Daily Star article. Producers don’t want to invite back old housemates to celebreate the 10 year anniversary of the show, ‘We don’t want old faces in there’

According to the Daily Star ex-housemates have been begging producers to get them back into the house to extend their 15 minutes of fame

BB10 to be 'sexiest ever', to launch June 3rd?

Lucy Pinder from CBB6

The Daily Star has reported that that the upcoming series of Big Brother will be the ’sexiest ever’ with all the housemates being aged between 18 and 22.

The Daily Star article also revealed that the new series is due to launch on Wednesday June 3rd.

It should be noted that the Daily Star has a notorious reputation for poorly sourced rumours and so the content of this article should be taken with a large lump of salt. It seems highly unlikely for the show to contain only a small range of housmeates.

Davina to earn big money as live feed axed

Davina

Days after the popular 24/7 live feed from the house was confirmed as axed it has been revealed that Davina has signed a monster pay deal.

The Daily Star reports that Davina, who has fronted the live shows since the first series, will be earning £500,000 for the series and around £100,000 for the 1 hour weekly BBBM show. This news has annoyed a lot of fans after the axing of the live feed as a result of its cost. It does seem strange to axe a core feature of the Big Brother show due to cost cutting and then spend £100,000 for a presenter of a weekly show which could easily be filled by a new and fresh face for a much smaller fee.

Davina to host BBBM; cut to one show a week?

Davina

Big brother host Davina Mcall is to host the spin off show Big Brother’s Big Month on E4 from the start of Big Brother 10. Davina hosted the show for the final week as a guest presenter during Big Brother 9 where she was critised by fans for her ‘poor treatment’ of winner, Rachel rice.

Rumours also suggest that the format of BBBM is to change to incorporate features similar to that of the Xtra factor and Britains got more talent. This would suggest extra features such as interviews with presenters and more behind the scenes action.
