Big Brother 10 launched last night being watched by an average of 5.09 million viewers, a 23% share. This makes the launch the 3rd least watched launch above both the first two series which is to be expected. The show peaked at 5.7 million viewers, a 23% share, at around 10pm as the final few housemates entered.
Despite the low viewing figures compared to previous years the show was Channel4′s second most watched show so far this year being beaten by only the Celebrity Big Brother launch show in January. The ratings show that the launch pulled in a massive 183% increase in viewers on the slot average.
Big Brother’s Big Mouth didn’t fair well at all managing to pull in only 580,000 viewers from 10:30-11:30 on E4. This made it the second most watched show of the day on E4 behind Hollyoaks. For a launch night these figures are pretty low, it was once typical for a weeknight show in BB7 to get these figures whilst launch and other specials would easily reach over 1 million viewers.
Channel4 make a decision about renewing the contract for Big Brother with Endemol later this year.

Thats actually really sad);
I’m sure they’ll go higher but wow thats low, maybe they should of started at 8pm or whatever, but by the looks of it bye bye BB.
