Kerry Katona has turned down a £200,000 offer from Channel4 bosses to appear in the final Celebrity Big Brother series. Katona, who rose to fame as part of the girl band Atomic Kitten, was recently declared bankrupt by London’s High Court and faces eviction from her £1.5 million house.
The former singer is now more famous for taking part in a number of reality TV shows including ITV’s I’m a Celebrity, which she won in 2004.
According to the Daily Star, Katona considered the offer however turned it down because of fears that it’d cause a nervous breakdown.
A source told the paper: “Kerry could have cleared so many debts with this but pals warned her the show loves to mess with people’s minds and can cause meltdowns. Look at Les Dennis and Vanessa Feltz.
“They also thought that she may become a hate target. And as she is fragile she could break down.”
Kerry’s agent confirmed: “She was offered the chance to do it but has not accepted it.”
