Channel 4 have announced that the live feed streaming service via the internet and red button will not be available during the upcoming series of Big Brother. The decision follows the removal of live feed during Celebrity Big Brother 6 and the removal of an online live feed during Big Brother 9.
Short segments of live feed will still be shown on both E4 and C4 during the night and late afternoon. Channel 4 have also said they will aim to add more and longer clips to their website
Channel 4 put the removal of the live feed service down to cost cutting as a result of the current economical climate. The decision also comes at the same time that the channel has annouced it will be closing their community forums including those used for Big Brother.
The live feed regularly attracted hundreds of thousands of viewers to E4 but was often outshined by even the endless repeats of Friends. A lot of Big Brother fans are understandably angry at the decision and a petition, here, has already garnered over 400 signatures.

Absolutely ridiculous decision by CH4. The UK is the only country in the world with no Live Feed.
How can you describe this as an Orwellian landscape viewed 24/7 & then remove the Live Feed, yet still maintain it’s the same programme?
All it is is a glorified soap opera – it’s an absolute travesty.

All of the Big Brothers around the world have 24/7 LIVE FEED…Africa, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Columbia, Croatia, Denmark, Ecuador, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Middle East, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romainia, Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the USA… SO WHY DON’T WE????

Cutting Live Feed is a disgrace. Live Feed = Big Brother
No Live Feed = No Big Brother for me.
I have yet to hear a logical explanation as to why Channel 4 has scrapped the Live feed, and thus removed the heart of the show.
So many mistakes it is unreal, C4 are a disgrace, are they so blinkered that they can’t see what damage they are doing to a once unique show.
C4 LISTEN to your customers they are the ones that matter, bring back Live Feed and give us a proper Big Brother for this milestone birthday.
As an ardent Big Brother fan since its inception I find it extremely difficult to comprehend the rationale behind C4 decision to axe daytime access to Live Feed and the Red button option too.
I am cognisant of fact that Life Feed will be accessible from 11.30 – 6.30 so why not for the rest of the day? This decision makes no sense and therefore makes one very concerned about those who have made the decision.
This issue has, so far, only known by a few until quite recently. However other Big Brother fans are now becoming aware of this wanton ‘axing’ of the Live Feed daytime option and they too are questioning these actions.
Like any other product, C4 I am sure is fully aware that the customer is always right. Therefore they would not be seen as ‘climbing down’ they would be seen as catering to their customers needs.

Channel 4 should be ashamed of thereselfs cutting 24/7 Livefeed, & they justify it, saying its because of cut backs, well i would rather have that, then Big Brothers Big Mouth. TBH

Big Brother IS livefeed, it is absolutely horrendous that they’ve axed it to 11.30 pm. OFCOM recently DISMISSED the Coolio complaints, this is proof that as long as C4 and the BB production team keep within the confinements of the code no harm will come to them, no matter how many people complain. You need to realise this, and you need to reinstate the live feed.. Big Brother will bomb without the biggest asset that helped to SHAPE THE SHOW.
Live Feeds is what makes big brother….BIG BROTHER. Whithout it its another useless highly editted farce of a ‘reality’ show. CH4 amazes me with their ignorance to the fan base that have made this show what it is, it rakes in 2/3 of their annual profit a year yet they seem to be adament on killing the show off in the worst possible manner. If they nolonger wish to continue with the show, then let a more deserving channel take over…Sky for instance or CH5. At least we will get real Reality show from other people rather than this set up show that BB has now become. They crave things like Drame yet when they get such footage they are too frightened to air it…( i.e the real reason behind cutting the LF) What has happened to CH4/BB??? Its a social experiment it isnt suppose to be highly editted and watered down. Many of us loyal fans can look past your blatant Bias for an individual hm’s, p*ss weak tasks,lack of audio whilst watching LF, Plastic hm’s, weak eviction interviews etc but NO LIVE FEED???? What is the point? Even the poorest of countrtys throughout the world have LF, their excuses are lame. They just want to tell us who we SHOULD like rather than decidind for ourselves. But Im fed up with it all now, they have no respect at all for the people that pay their bloody wages! You CANNOT ‘get to know’ a hm’s character from 40 miniutes a night…. And thats even if they DO actually have saturaday night HL’s!!!!!! Ive watched BB since day one, It WAS a great show, and weve had some amazing characters come from it (notice how their not all the celeb obsessed wannabes of late?) but its dead now. I’m finally SWITCHING OFF!
I am afraid I wont be watching anymore thanks to the stupid decision not to have livefeed. Maybe this is what Channel 4 wants – the cancellation of the show.
Apalling that there is no live feed, I love BB but just dont know if its just the housemates or lack of live feed is the reason I cant get into it this year.
C4 give the show to a channel that care!
